Community Service

Dr. Linda provides veterinary care for several nonprofit rescue organizations in the area, and she and Carl have built their animal family by adopting needy pets and farm animals. Learn more about their charity efforts over the years, helping ensure Burke Animal Clinic gives back to the Burke County pet community.

Caring for Our Rescues

Burke County is home to countless exceptional rescue organizations, and our team at Burke Animal Clinic is proud to support their continued efforts through direct participation.

Dr. Schilkowsky spent two years on the Burke County Animal Advisory Board, where she helped write the Animal Ordinance for the county. She is currently the veterinarian advisor on the Burke County Dangerous Animals Appeals Board. This Board provides an opportunity for the owners of animals deemed dangerous by the County to appeal the decision. After extensive investigation into each case, this independent Board conducts a public hearing and makes recommendations to the court based on their findings.

In addition, Burke Animal Clinic directly supports several pet rescues in the area, doing our utmost to help get homeless cats and dogs off the streets and into safe, loving homes. Adopting pets is a cause we deeply believe in, and Dr. Linda and Carl make a point to always adopt their pets. Bucky’s adoption photo from Friends for Animals is a favorite!
